The Guvnor's Down Royal naps
The Guvnor has a few suggestions for the deferred Down Royal card.

The action gets underway up north at 12:25 with a Maiden Hurdle. Falcon Island was third in a race from which the form hasn’t worked out too badly while Cass Bligh has some fairly decent Bumper form though the benefit of experience over hurdles might give the first mentioned Turtle Island gelding the nod for the in form Gordon Elliot yard. Progeny of that sire relish soft to heavy conditions too.

Gloonan Hill hung badly to the left on his reappearance after a long layoff but, despite this being a competitive enough looking contest, presuming that glitch has been ironed out, he should belatedly get off the mark in the second race.

Another Elliot inmate, Barcadero, has the best of what are some modest looking form figures possessed by those in the Beginners’ Chase but if Noel Meade’s Sigma Lifestyle has brushed up on his jumping that one could also figure. Tony Martin’s Saddlers Storm put in an eye catching finish on his latest outing at Naas while Artic Island wasn’t beaten too far last time out at Fairyhouse. They should have the Handicap Chase between them while Icky brings the best form of those in the concluding Bumper.

The Guvnor suggests your ‘Try These Three’:

Falcon Island (12:25)
Gloonan Hill (12:55)
Icky (3:30)
