Opel relaunches kit for clubs initiative
A host of top GAA players and managers were today on hand to celebrate the relaunch of Opel’s Kit for Clubs initiative for 2009. GAA stars Alan Brogan, Colin Moran, Keith Rossiter and Enda McNulty as well as All Ireland winning managers Mickey Harte and Brian Cody were all present to help kick start the initiative for 2009 and encourage GAA clubs all over the country to sign up for the scheme.
Now in its second year, the Opel Kit for Clubs initiative marks a significant reinvestment by Opel in local GAA clubs and communities up and down the country, supporting them with high quality training kit and equipment.
It’s a simple process. Once registered every time you or a club member test drive or purchase a car from Opel’s exciting range, your GAA club will be allocated points. These points can then be used by your local GAA club to redeem some fantastic gear from the Opel Kit For Clubs range.
After a successful first year where over 400 GAA clubs throughout Ireland have registered for the scheme and more than 74,000 points have been built up by clubs, Opel are hoping that even more clubs will avail of the opportunity to become involved in the scheme in 2009 and equip their club with top quality kit and training equipment.
A wide selection of training equipment is available through the initiative including; footballs, sliotars, mesh training bibs, GAA rain jackets, gear bags, junior and senior tackle bags, team agility packs and portable Gaelic goal posts. Each test drive is worth 10 points while every Opel car purchased will net 200 points for your local GAA club.
Commenting on the launch of the Kit for Clubs initiative, Dave Sheeran, Managing Director, Opel Ireland, said, “Opel Kit for Clubs is designed to support local GAA clubs and players throughout the country. Gaelic Games is the heartbeat of the nation and this innovative scheme underlines Opel’s continued commitment to local communities throughout Ireland. I would encourage people up and down the country to get involved in the Kit for Clubs scheme and support their local GAA club.”
